A Conversation for Talking on Trains
Overcoming the English - Silence - Syndrome
Judas Fury Started conversation May 29, 2003
In my experience there is only one way to overcome the very British problem of speaking on trains (and this applies to buses, tubes etc) and it is this:
Travel in groups.
Seriously, for some unfathomable reason it seems we manage to lose our uncontrollable embarassment and act, socially, like the rest of the world. Only yesterday myself and 3 other travellers found at least one familly and 2 other complete strangers joining briefly into our discussions.
Are there any other exceptions to the silence rule that I don't know about?
