As an exiled Doncastrian (I left the place in 1982, when I was 18) I was looking forward to seeing how the old place is these days. For example:
What's the Dome like?
Is it really grim now that the cole industry's been killed off?
Is the Grammar School (aka Hallcross School) still there?
Is that Church near Waterdale that was converted into a pub still there?
Is it still the chess capital of Yorkshire?
Is Rotters still as bad as it used to be? And Ro and Jo's?
My favourite pub used to be the one near teh Market. Is that still there?
Are the buses still practically free?
Have they got around to redecorating the Arndale Centre yet?
