A Conversation for Blackadder

Fourth series

Congratulations,

An excellent introduction to this essential TV series.

I have one quibble, though - who described the 4th series as being a realistic depiction of life in the trenches? Not someone who was there, I would guess. One thing that always disturbed me about the series was the ease with which the characters move from Blackadder's trench to the General's Chateau and back. From everything I've read about WW1, moving to and from the front line was an extremely difficult, dangerous and time-consuming business, even when the Front was 'quiet'. (The German artillery knew exactly where all the roads and communication trenches were, and kept them under constant bombardment.) I guess, though, the demands of the storylines required that there had to be a lot of coming and going.

Sorry for the delay in replying.
I don't know who said that about the forth series but I thinks possibly they were referring more to the attitude of the men and other things. However it is a good point, I may add something when I next make changes to the site. Thanks for the comments.
