Must just be me then.
What about geting dressed without removing your hat.
Getting dressed whilst dying your hair.
Getting dressed with a fractured skull.

Its not just you Mckay, I believe there is much more to be said about getting dressed with a towel on your head, and have suggested as much.

well yes but then it would be the art of getting dressed with some sort of removable object that could obscure the prossess on your head
and thats not quite as snappy

<> No, we're not that good at multi-tasking. Anyway how would you get a sleeve over a hairdrier in use?

Eh, and I thought it was 'dyeing' your hair - or deep conditioning, for that matter, or henna-ing doesn't sound right...
Anthea, these don't have to be the central topic of the entry but you could mention them as other times when the skill of dressing with something on your head is useful - so 'this is a useful skill and comes into its own when dyeing your hair, deep conditioning it and perhaps even when recovering from a skull fracture' .. or something like that?

Or there's the reverse situation like when you change your swimming costume under a towel on a crowded beach...

"I was attempting it I would probably "top and tail" it with paragraphs which put the exercise in context (i.e. who is doing the dressing, and why they need to keep the towel on their head - some of this you've already done), and then another to close it."
I agree wholeheartedly.
Dr Anthea, this is a great idea for a post. I do feel that it could use some stylistic tweaking for the EG, though. Icy North's suggestions are great, but I'd suggest breaking it into a step-by-step ordered list, something along these lines (I'll use as much of your original text as I can):
1. Put on any items that do not require pulling over the head, such as trousers, socks and undergarments.
2. Eventually, no matter how hard you try, you're going to have to pull something over your head. it's unavoidable.
3. Put your arms in first. This normally provides the leverage needed to pull the garment over your head. If not, you may have to direct the towel in several different ways before it will go on. This may be difficult, and probably exhausting.
4. Unfolding the towel while keeping it on your head.
5. Place the towel through the neck hole of the garment.
6. Pull the garment down over your head.
If, however, you are unlucky enough to be attempting to put on a tight-necked top of some sort, it may just be easier to remove the towel prior to putting the garment on.
I find this makes for easier reading of this sort of thing (maybe a HEADER or SUBHEADER tag to indicate that instructions follow), since when one wants to dress with a towel on one's head, one wants to get to the crux of the matter quickly.
And there's my two cents.

I was trying to broaden it.
It was dyeing - unless of course you particularly didn't want to die with your hair a mess. (Celebrity problem.)
When I had long hair (dewey-eyed moment) I used to wear shirts, to avoid the problem, this was after ruining my Guernsey jumper using the put your arms through technique and stretching all the shape out of it.

well you see the thing is that i simply do not wish to put things about hats and reasons for the towel in there
I think that that would be waffling which I would like to stay away from at the moment.

Since none of us were born with a towel on our head I don't think it would be waffling to say how and why it should be there.
As a serial dresser with towel on head I think there is much more to be said about this talent. I put my towel on my head before stepping out of the shower so that the water from my hair doesn't soak the floor. I also have a preference for the size of towel I use - some are too small and others too big. There is also a particular method of wrapping the hair and tucking in the tails which requires some skill.......I could go on, but I suspect that you too are aware of the additional information and advice which could be used in this entry.

From what I can see, you haven't taken aboard any of the suggestions made here, you haven't bothered to do the corrections - it's just a question of cut and paste- and you more or less clearly say that you don't intend to do anything to improve this entry. I'm sorry, but in this case, it will stay a rather pointless entry, and is not suitable for the EG.

I have changed the grammar and spelling errors that were pointed out to me and i have lengthened the entry from its original form
Please do not try to tell me I'm not being co-operative,
I simply do not wish to talk about hats and dying hair
is that such a problem?

The hair dyeing, and hat-thing were meant ironically,, as was the fractured scull.

Yes, sorry, I somehow missed a part you added, or reread it while you were still editing. Whatever, I still think it lacks something, but can't put my finger on it. I hope the others will have more constructive advice.

Looks good. Can't see how anyone can have anything against a towel based entry going into the guide. It's about time people here realised we're as much about entertainment as information. There's a thread many of you are signed up to where people read 5 random entries and rate them (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=3289561), and guess what? Funny yet still informative entries like this tend to score higher than 19 page long theses on compound boolean fractal anomalies in the Steel industry of Kuala Lumpur, which seem to be cropping up more and more. And Anth, I'll give it a once over with my sub-ed skills when I get back from Holland.
