Mouse Trap

Can anyone remember a board game called Mouse Trap?
It was the most annoying game in the world because before playing you had to set a highly intricate and delicately balanced trap for the mice that were the playing pieces. Invariably, you would spend well over half an hour setting the game up, setting the trap off accidentally and therefore having to set it up again etc, etc, etc so that you never actually got round to playing the game because you were so bored of it by then.
Kerplunk – that was another one. Not quite so frustrating as Mouse Trap though.

Kerplunk has been mentioned... Don't know about Mousetrap, but the neighbours the game. Like you said, though... seems they never actually got round to playing it... Did look intriguing to me, though.. with all those gadgets. (Too bad they wouldn't leave me alone with it. smiley - winkeye)

I remember trying to play it with my sister. Once you managed to set it up you would get to the point where there were mice to trap beneath the cage. You would get all excited, the anticipation of watching this wonderful contraption that had been so painstakingly constructed swing into action being almost too much to stand. You would set the ball off rolling, it would cascade down the first slope, roll off the board and under the settee, the whole thing coming to a tragic halt. The reason you weren’t left alone with it is probably because the next step was to fling the bloody thing half way across the room and to have your mum say ‘Get to your room! You could have had your sister’s eye out with that!’
Ah, memories!

*Grinz* ... I wasn't left alone with it because there were 9 kids in that family... all but 3 of them older than me, who used to get very annoyed when I could do something they couldn't. smiley - winkeye

Ah – that could have left you in a very dangerous situation! Anyway, with a name like yours you want to stay away from games like Mouse Trap. Could be nasty smiley - winkeye

I agree about the frustration of the game. It was also one of those games that once you had played it once, and the trap thingies worked,
there was little point in playing it again.

Now RISK - that's a game to play. I was in hospital years ago, and we had a RISK game that lasted for 3 weeks.
