I've been house hunting in Sheffield. Most of the houses are just off Abbeydale road which GD may recognise I think I am going to rent at first for 6 months ant then we may buy later

Of course I know Abbeydale road. So how much is a house in Sheff these days? And should I swap my Brighton abode for three in the North

Tonto Posted Sep 13, 2002
Well, we are looking to rent a 2 or 3 bed terrace for £400, and to buy one of the same size varies between £45,000 and £70,000 though I haven't viewed any of those so don't know how good they are
Of course we could get something bigger and cheaper further out I reckon but my girlfriend can't drive and wants to be on good bus routes and near to the city centre so Ecclesall road would probably be good
I'm guessing its not soo wet in Brighton but I may be wrong

No it's bright and sunny in Brighton. Only problem is that I'm stuck in a basement office for the day.
Still I suppose Light is waiting for me back home which is nice

Its sunny here (Rochdale) too for the moment I do reckon Sheffield is one of the wettest places I've been too. So ironic that on every university open day I went to, it was boiling hot.

Tonto Posted Sep 13, 2002
Yup
All her friends are there also which is good. Even the ones from her home town moved there so all her home and Uni friends will be in Sheff

Yes I was - but the garden is far lovelier when you are there
