A Conversation for Don't Panic

The onset of panic

Post 1

Researcher 109192

I posted a couple of fine enteries to the guide which have now fermented without comment or review by an editor
for 26 weeks. I wanted to know if I should consider panicking. Perhaps other researchers could explain. These are the entries in question:

The only explanations I can think of are:

1) My explanations are too accurate, I should consider becoming a dictionary researcher or encyclopedia saleman
2) This web place is not an open forum, please take your discussion elsewhere
3) The term "editor" is a very loose description, in fact the term is better described in the reference
"browser" above is closer
4) You have mistaken this website as a place for posting entries for the Hitch Hikers Guide
5) The world wide web is in fact a desserted barren place, or this part of it is, postings need to "ferment"
for several millenia before being reviewed by a human being
6) All postings to the guide are kept in a locked filing cabinet for many months before submission in
case they are read
7) The postings are so amazingly funny the H2G2 team are still "bolting down the webservers" in
anticipation of the overwhelming traffic they will create once published
8) Your postings are a waste of disk space, might we recommend a job as an encyclopedia salesman

If fellow researchers could assist me in understanding what stage of panic I should be in I would be most grateful.
I am currently beyond the football commentator stage and but hope to avoid the John Cleese level.

The entries are listed on your page but they don't have 'submitted' next to them - you have to hit the "Submit for Approval" button that is displayed when you edit them before the entry is considered to be submitted & the editors look at it.

Bruce is right. You have to submit the entry. The gives Researchers the chance to write an entry and then edit it to their satisfaction. When they are sure that they have the perfect entry they can then submit it for the editors purusal.

I liked your thoughts on why we hadn't looked at it yet, LOL!
