h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

M'kay, so I'm new to the Guide. Could somebody bring me up to speed? Tips, hints, suggestions, that kinda stuff.

Well, the first thing you should do is write a homepage introduction. Don't feel apprehensive about it, even a blank space will do, although you can probably find something else to put, like what your interests are etc.... the reason for this is that then other researchers can start conversations on your page; they can stop by and say hi

Places to go...
You can go to most places from the front page (get there by clicking on the h2g2 logo in the top left corner of your screen), you can check out Peta's Picks from there... Peta is the Community editor (http://www.h2g2.com/U24 for her homepage) and she finds cool places on site and puts them on the front page... you can also read today's approved entries from there... there's lots of links.

If you want to meet other researchers try the Aroma Café the Forum and Firkin Pub or the H2G2 Waterworks and Beach. There are often lots of people there but don't feel intimidated, everyone's really friendly...post and get to know people.

Finally, if you want to visit anyone's page, click their name in a forum... hopefully you'll be able to find out more about them...
