Sunflowers, probably. It would have to go on one of the orange walls*, but it would fit in well there.

*The white wall has the wallplanner, whiteboards and noticeboard, so there isn't really room. And the splatter-painted wall is a work of art in its own right

Quite honestly? I wouldn't. I don't think I'd want to look at the same thing everyday. I wouldn't want it to blend into the wallpaper. And my favourite paintings aren't necessarily ones I'd want as decor. Screaming Pope above the fireplace? No Ta!
There's something about the artificial context of a gallery that makes you stop and slow down. Maybe it's a bit like watching a DVD and going to see a film.

Well I'm going for Giorgione's The Tempest...known as the first landscape in western art...(one day I might actually get to Venice and see it). I think it might look a bit incongruous in my kitchen...but I don't care

Very interesting question, the kitchen eh? I can think of a few I'd love to have on the wall opposite my bed for instance or in the living room.
I'll have to think!

Oh, I didn't see the kitchen constraint. I don't have any free wall space, but a Cezanne still life would look good on the fridge.

It would just have to be Warhol's soup cans then...
It is so bright in this house - open plan with a huge roof light and sub-tropical sun that anything pastel or romantic is just unsuitable.
Here's a link.

I've already got Ezio and Lara on me wall and I'd only have to dust the frame, however, I'm rather partial to a bit of Kandinsky so, if you can find out who's got it, I'll have this one, please:

I don't have room in my kitchen, but i do have space on one of my walls for Dali's La gare de Perpignan (and I know where it is - flippin' massive thing that it is)

one of my very favourite pictures. Or even The Temptation of St Anthony (I have a small poster of this in my dining room)

Or something by Miro - perhaps (I've had a framed poster of this for yonks and yonks

I'm afraid I'm a Pre Raphaelite nut so I already have Waterhouse's Lady of Shalot(print) on my living room wall.I also have Some Beryl Cooks and Turner's Snow Storm Steam boat off a Harbours Mouth as a print of course.
Then again Monet's Poppies has a place in my bedroom as has Isobel and the pot of Basil By Holman Hunt as well as Love Votaries by Lawrence Alma Tadema.
I'd love to get some Hockneys and I keep meaning to go looking for some Roger Dean Posters as well but I've not got a lot of walls..
However I would not like to have any of the originals. As far as I'm concerned great art should belong to all not just to those who have the money. But if Banksy would come and graffitid my house I'd be over the moon..

I prefer to have the paintings accessible in public art galleries, like I prefer to have my "pets" roaming free in their natural habitat.

I've got a limited edition print by Beryl Cook. It's of middled aged fairies cavorting in the veg patch with a couple of male pixies lusting from the background.

I could live with this:

Or this, for a splash of colour:

Or this, for a more sombre mood:

The wall space in my kitchen is very sparse. There might be room for a small reproduction of a painting by Vermeer that shows a middle-aged cook at the stove, with a white-draped table behind her. I don't know the name of the painting. There's stuff on the table, maybe vegetables in a basket.
In my living room, I have some framed reproductions of Chinese paintings. I got them when I was at the National Gallery in Taipei.
There are beautiful, delicate birds in them. I don'tknow the names or the paintings. On one side wall, I have a painting of a mountain scene, and on the facing wall I have a still life, red and yellow roses in a light green vase. These latter two paintings were not expensive, nor were they by famous painters, but the colors and textures make me feel good. :-0
