Progressive Musical Artists of the 70's and 80's

1 Conversation

Well, first off define "progressive". Then attempt to sort, file and elaborate on the following artists:

Beatles, Rush, YES, Queen, ELO, Supertramp (maybe?), Stevie Wonder, Police, Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground (i.e. Lou Reed), They Might Be Giants, Midnight Oil, The Doors, Tori Amos, David Bowie, Jethro Tull, Ladysmith Black Manbozo, Simon and Garfunkel, Peter Gabriel, The Who, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, REM, U2, XTC, Talking Heads, Chicago (moreso, though, when they were Transit Authority than just plain "Chicago")...more to come with lots of descriptive words and nouns and verbs and such...blah de blah...
