I used to play D&D. Just had to get back in the stride of it.
Plus your nitpicky words don't help.
What do you mean "choose one"? What would I be choosing here?

Oh. Why can't I take them all?
Little advice, start with 2nd Edition. 3rd is easier to learn, it's true; but the system doesn't make as much sense, and it's not nearly as fun, in my opinion.
