A Conversation for How To View An Eclipse
Look at your feet

One thing you are supposed to do, clear sky permitting, is look at your feet.
Don't bother with viewing the eclipse itself (without a proper method of protecting yor eyes - like a television) but watch your feet instead.
You'll notice strange shimerings somewhat akin to a heat haze but more strange as it will happen to your own feet.
I guess, British weather being what it is, we won't get to see this effect anyway, but then I'm not supposed to mention that.
