Bowling? But I'm terrible at bowling - I'll also be at the mercy of Virgin Rail so I can only give an arrival time +/-...oh...about 3 days

Now, I always feel like I'm some sort of freak when I say this, but *touches head for luck* touch wood I have no complaints when it comes to Virgin Rail...

It was as bad then, just people take delight in ragging on private companies - no-one, anywhere, in the history of the world has made trains run on time OR to profit (Il Duce was an ace bulls...propagandist! )

A friend of mine told me that in Japan that if the Bullet is even one minute late, the station manager will personally apologise to you - now THAT's service!

The Japanese are a planet unto themselves - where do I sign?
Actually, my last two trips to London have involved the train being EARLY - on arrival at Euston the train manager actually announced the fact that we had arrived 1 mins early and sounded pretty about it!
On the return leg of my next visit we were stationary in Milton Keynes station for 20 minutes because we were far too early to actually lose the time!
(They were both weekend trips so the timetable 'estimates' had an extra hour put on them and there just couldn't have been any work on that stretch of the West Coast Main Line those particular days )

Positive. Will either get a lift direct or train to Victoria and then bus it.

If we're boweling does this mean I have to bring my proctoligist along? I don't think curries in Manchester are his thing - maybe a round or two at the Belfrey perhaps...
...though there was this rather nice young lady in clinic last year who did something unspeakable to me

Tsk... haven't you updated this yet EH? Bowling at 4pm then? Whilst not travelling by train, we will be under the influence of on the roads (though not under the influence of certain small people this time)
Now where was that thread where daS asked to be put down? I'd hate to disappoint...
PS Can one of you popular people (ie. not me!) put in a word about the need for and smilies... maybe even

Jamie Posted Jan 19, 2004
Ok, bowling at 4, so if I make an early start I should be able to drive down by - probably closing time .
I should be able to make it, I reckon. Means I might have to get up before lunchtime on a Saturday though

Well, if Jamie can find his way to my house on the way, then I'll come along. As long as DD and Ku'Reshtin aren't there, I might stand a chance of doing averagely well at bowling.
