By the way, I passed your idea of mentoring writers onto Shea the Sarcastic, she was the first person to welcome me here. I think she'll be able to give it a push in the right direction. smiley - smiley

Okay, here's today's comments.

I think the entry is looking better. I think you could go ahead and submit it to Peer Review, but prepared for the fact that people there are probably going to have quite a few comments on:

1) grammar, and
2) how the information is organized

I think both of these have improved quite a bit, but they still have a ways to go. The organization has actually improved drastically -- I think at this point the main problem is that the headers you have aren't incredibly informative for the reader. I gave some suggestions in an earlier post about how to improve the headers -- you certainly don't have to go with that, but try to take into account that the 2 main goals of headers are to:

1) break up the information visually for the reader, and to
2) give the reader a concise idea of what information each section will contain

As far as grammar goes, I'm wondering how we can best help you with this. If you have Microsoft Word at home, you can copy the entry and paste it into Word, and run the Spelling/Grammar check -- it's far from perfect, but it does do a good job of picking up run-on sentences, which are the biggest issue here.

If you want to go ahead and submit this to Peer Review, though, I'll support you in that. I'd just suggest that when you do, you include a link to this Writing Workshop thread so that people can see what has happened already so far.

What program do you use on your computer for word processing?

Some common ones are:

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Works
Corel Word Perfect
whatever the Apple one is (I have it, I but I use MS Word on my Mac, so I don't know the name of this -- it might be Appleworks or something like that)

Any of those look familiar?

Not all word processing programs are set up to check grammar when they do spelling, though -- I know MS Word does, but I'm not sure about the others.
