Girl Scout Cookies
Created | Updated Jan 10, 2012
Despite the name, none of the cookies are actually made from Girl Scouts, but instead are sold by the Girl Scouts as a fund-raising effort. Of course now this seems fairly sexist, and someone trying the same thing today would probably have them sell drill bits or sports equipment door-to-door, so thank goodness this started in 1917 when people didn't know any better.
Apparently the Thin Mints are the number one seller, but research suggests the Samoas and the Do-Si-Dos are better choices. Avoid the Shortbread, unless you're grouting tiles.
