It's been done: A23232511.
See also <./>Test23232511</.>, which shows the very strange coding involved. It's GuideML, but not as we know it! But I'm certain that h2g2 could be made to recognise some of the required code. Actually, I'm going to experiment with something. Give me a moment...

I tried bunging some of that code into a h2g2 Entry. It didn't work. I didn't really expect it to.

That's a shame, I thought you were on to something then! Don't suppose anyone else has any ideas about how we could get that to work?

If the GuideML contains HTML codes which the DNA parser doesn't recognise, these are transmitted intact. It seems that the DNA parser does recognise the code, and drops it from the outputted HTML. This means that the simple way of embedding a YouTube video, which works on most other sites, cannot be made to work here.
(Most YouTube videos have a code to the side which can be used to embed the video in another site.)

Traveller in Time not surprised
" They are 'embedding' videos on Filmnetwork for more then a year.
Just sign in to the site and upload your video, after 'clearance' it will be published from the BBC servers. "

Traveller in Time confused
"Does it matter who is hosting the data ? Thought the question was if they can be embedded on the dna system ?"

Wow!!
Congrats Skanky and TriG, for dragging hootoo into the century of the fruitbat... I just visited A848658, and blow me, its just a beautiful thing, its like h2g2 is dangerously close to feeling like a modern website.
Well done all AViators.
<-- Damnit we even have a proper beverage to celebrate with now

Thanks, vp! Though I should point out, in a kind a of mutual appreciation sort of way, that you were also integral to the Aviators' early successes
