Just a thought, modern mobiles have the ability to record video. What's the possibility of h2g2 Researchers sending in video footage for AVIators to then edit and collate to EG Entries?

That'd be cool but what sort of context?
It could take meet diaries (which really should have a central link page) to a different level!

I've been meaning to do an 'audio diary' of a meet for yonks; but gulp a bit at the idea of taking my very very cool neat wizzy (and very expensive) digital recorder plus mic along to a meet for fear of loosing it... think I will at the next one though

It'd be brill for seeing the mugs that belong to the postings at meets, but I was thinking more along the lines of for EG Entries, more specifically perhaps geographical or actual things - like say, footage of something happening, like um, well I don't know. Be great for entries about historical events though. Eyewitness account of things for future generations to see, and not of the newsworthy variety. REal life stuff. Maybe. I'm blathering...

I get where your coming from; Take an entry of which there are quite a few on smallish towns or villages in the UK; you get an idea of the place from the entry and whats there and such like, but the likelyhood is the reader has never been there and is not likely to ever go there, but a bit of footage on video of say, the high street, or some particular feature of the town/village; the village green, the war memorial the beech/sea defences... Depending on the town/village etc Say the entry on Lowestoft which I can't remember the A number of, you could have shots of the newish high street layout, of the train station, of the piers, and the south beeach, and then a shot over Ness point (the most Eastly point in britten), demonstrating how ness point is, with its adjecent sewage outlet pipe Or the entry on Norwich, something of the Castle, and maybe the cathedrial

Yeah, stuff like that, but you could also do footage on Entries like brushing your teeth, or how to tie a tie, things that just have to be seen to understand and appreciate fully. I still can't tie a bleedin' tie properly..

ooo yeh I used to be able to tie a tie at school; then having not worn one for years needed to wear it for interviews ETC and had to get someone to tie it for me happily I can do it myself again now ooo isn't there an edited entry somewhere on how to roll a 'large cigarette', that would be nice with video footage
