I know I said I was done. I lied.

Yet another Flea Market rescue, this is very short. But it satisfies the comments in the first PR thread, and reviewers at the time felt that was enough to send it to FM instead of back to entry.

Ozeepete wrote the original, but all the extras I added in were from Mikey so I credited her, too.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Mighten it be worth mentioning that they often (when I've seen it anyhow), have dry ice machines as well to pump out smoke over the bowling lanes?

smiley - biggrin I'm a real spoil sport I guess... Do most people enjoy the cosmic bowling?: we were at our ten pin bowling match the other night and they were doing the cosmic bowling thinggy at the far far end of the lanes away from where we were... but it was so deafeningly loud with DJing going on as if it were a night club!
When you say 'blacklighting' I think it is in the article; is that the same as UV lighting I think thats what they were using where we were; kinda makes any white items of clotes go weird...

Kind of purplish? Yeah, that's a black light. I've never heard it called ultraviolet, that's always been the part of sunlight to blame for burns.

Looking it up in the Cambridge dictionary, ultraviolet light is light of a wavelength beyond the range of human vision. So it can't be seen.

There is no entry for black light. smiley - erm

I'm not sure what to do with it.

Hmm... probably just leave it as black light then... whatever htat might be! smiley - laughsmiley - erm I am probably rong oabout it being UV, now you say it it reminds me and yes UV is the one responsible for tanning/sun burn etc... smiley - weirdsmiley - ufo

Ultraviolet light cannot be seen, that's why it's dark, but white clothing show up under ultraviolet light. It's not the light that you see, but the effects it has on various colours.

Back in my DJ days they were always called UV blacklights (except they glowed purple). Oh, and the girls hated them 'cos it made their undies glow in the dark.smiley - run

I recall the last time I went bowling the whole place decided to go 'cosmic' for the rest of the night come 9pm. We didn't really want it to do that, but had no choice. smiley - sadface

That said, another fantastic FM rescue! smiley - applause

smiley - yikes My crown may be usurped yet! (24 FM rescues to my name at present smiley - winkeye)

Typos fixed smiley - ok. I think those were both copied from the original entry.

Link added, GB.

I don't remember ever being worried that my undies would glow in the dark, but it always fascinated me that white laces on white tennies - the laces would glow but the shoes wouldn't.

Matt, your record is safe for awhile. I have less than ten between both accounts I write with. (But it's certainly a goal to aspire to smiley - winkeye)

Many washing powders include fluorescent materials, so that the whites will not only look whiter but actually be whiter, because they convert some of the sun's UV into visible white light. Clothes that have been washed in these powders will glow, while other clothes won't.
