Don Quixote - admittedly 'twas the only book I had for 3 weeks (apart from the guidebook) and I was dozing off for most of the first 250 pages, but then it was ok. ish

Munchkin

A classic example of a Bombadil point there. I took it as the only book on a transatlantic flight and decided I'd rather eat the airline food than actually read it. So, does anything exciting happen then?

ummmmm

well I quite enjoyed the reference to "Cato the Senseless", but one Ancient History in-joke doth not a good book make.

there's a bit where Don Quixote goes off into the wilderness to mourn his love, and meets other lovelorn people who've got all mixed up, and it's actually a tale that covers more than one chapter so it's like "oooh a reason to carry on reading, I haven't finished that bit yet"
which'd be about 250 pages in!

The closest I have got to reading either Chaucer or Don Quixote is bookmarking the websites for online editions. smiley - laugh

I liked the article, Munchers smiley - smiley

Munchkin

The Get Writing bit of DNA is rather good for those bits of Chaucer being updated on the telly. They are short, to the point and have no excessive talky bits. Which makes them the complete opposite of the real Don Quixote. smiley - winkeye

Thanks for reading people, it does my ego wonders.
