We've got a number of entries on how to try and win the lottery but it would be interesting for UK folks to find out how to get money from it by the formal grant making processes.

Even if this were split up by the routes in, such as "The Big Lottery Fund," "Playful Ideas" and so on it would be very useful.

The secret of a successful application is to lie through your teeth about how much money it will cost, how long it will take to build/implement, how many people are likely to visit it, how profitable it will be, and how much additional council tax the local residents will be paying until the end of time.

We-ell, just now I'm in the position of trying to help a number of groups obtain funding and they all quake at the thought of filling in a lottery application form. They do what they do well but the problem is getting someone with enough time to do the fundraising.

That would be a really useful article - ideally we'd need to find someone with experience of the end-to-end process. I'll have a dig around with my business contacts...
