I've recently discovered that there are entries on Osbourne house, many national trust places and Black Gang Chine among a few others missing from the Isle of Wight section on h2g2.
Furthermore if anyone could fill me in on what happened to Princess Helena (daughter of Queen Victoria) I'd be very much intrigued to know.

I'm surprised you've asked this, as the island is one of the most comprehensively-covered places on hootoo - see C546.
If you want to fill in the gaps, then I'm not sure Blackgang Chine should be at the top of your list - I remember it as a fairly tacky kids theme park (unless it's changed recently).

And Blackgang Chine isn't tacky, it's the UK's oldest theme park 
(mentioned at A793848, but yes, it does need its own article)
