This is lovely, TiT. I didn't know of him, though I'd heard the name, and obviously know Miffy
The entry needs some tightening up in structure and grammar, but I have to go do something, and would rather we have some comments on content first, so I'll wait a while, if that's ok.

Hi TiT .... I've never heard of him before today, but I have heard of Miffy
This is like Miffy, quite short and to the point. I'd just say who he is in the first paragraph - just to make it clear at the off.
Also, the quote at the end should be in single 'quotes' and attributed to Dick Bruna ... if it's his.
A very gentle read.

I had only heard about Nintje/Miffy in a pheloxi journal.
Do you think it's worth mentioning that Miffy was 50 years old on 21 Jun, 2005?

Traveller in Time still curious for a sure name
"Will try to adapt the text a little.
It is a translated quote (I think, should read the original interview )"

Natalie Posted Jun 1, 2007
Hello there ,
Delighted to see this here - it's a good start, but quite a bit more can be said.
For example, 'nijntje' is an abbreviation of the Dutch 'konijntje', which means 'rabbit.' Bruna started to write the stories for his son based on a rabbit they saw on holiday. The early Miffy looked slightly different.
Miffy has a variety of friends, which have different names in different languages (eg, Dutch Nina is English Melanie).
Although the format and style of the paintings might seem simple, Bruna has sought to tackle more weighty subjects in order to enable parents to broach difficult subjects with children. The most obvious example is 'Dear Grandma Bunny', which helps children deal with bereavement.
There is also a museum in Utrecht that should be mentioned. It is in a square known as the 'nijntje pleintje' (rabbit square!) as it has a statue of Miffy in the centre! (Bruna works nearby).
The 'Happy Birthday Miffy' exhibition, to celebrate Miffy's 50th birthday, is still travelling the world.
Aw I love Miffy!

Hi
How are you getting on with this? I reckon if you can incorporate some of Natalie's suggestions it will be on the right track.

Sho - employed again! Posted Sep 18, 2007
oh I just found this
I love Miffy - but I have hardly ever (if at all, now I think about it) heard her surname... maybe only as Bun (referring to the parents)
Anyway, I wanted to mention that in Dick Bruna's home town (somewhere on the coast, I'll have to check) there are lots of signs along the coastal cycle path drawn by him.
His style is beautiful and, you could have knocked me down when I first went to Korea and there was Miffy, alongside Hello Kitty (and looking way cooler, if I may say so). Apparently, and you can see why, Miffy is very popular in Korea and Japan.

Although Bruna wrote about Nijntje, I think you will have to refer to her as Miffy in this entry, since the entry is written in English. You can give her name as Nijnte, but any later references to her should be as Miffy.
I think it is sad that they have recently re-issued the Miffy books in English with a four-line verse on each page. I preferred the simple sentences of the originals. My daughters are outraged.

I didn't know there is nowadays a Nijntje Plein in Utrecht. Must be somewhere in the neighborhood of the Jerusalemstraat where, so I'm told, is his studio? Anyway, I saw recently Nijntje is also used as a political cartoon: Nijntje in an old fashioned open plane flying against a background of a huge tower: ' Nijn Eleven'.
