A Conversation for Astronomical Unit
Oh goodie! A new unit!

We in Ireland have a problem. You see, our distances are now measured in kilometers, while speed (and in many cases distance) is still measured in miles.
So I propose the following : Lets forget about all that and measure everything in Astronomical Units. From now, the distance from Dublin to Belfast is no longer 100 miles, but 6.71141*10^-7 astronomical units.
Much simpler. And on that note lets all start driving on the right hand side of the road. Forthwith.

Surely with such major changes as starting to drive on the right should be phased in gradually. I propose a transitional period of everyone driving in the middle of the road to aid adjustment.
