So far, average of 16 per packet, still taste like Horlicks (and if I could do trademark malarky I would) Loved by my three children (aged 3 10 and 11) and I, but not my partner (although I think he has an aversion to the aforementioned milky beverage)
Sorry it's taken me so long, they don't seem to be as prevalent as before

magwitch, looks like I struck lucky, there were 18 in my pack.
As the weight was less I was expecting less Maltesers, I didn't notice the white ones were any smaller than the milk chocolate, so I guess that means the white chocolate coating is lighter than the milk chocolate.
Did you notice the ingredients, the white chocolate contains full cream milk powder and skimmed milk powder, which may explain its likeness to Horlicks, I'll mention that in the Entry, with a link to Horlicks, but I might be asked to change it to a malted milk drink when its submitted to Update.
Oh, and they are chocolate, as they contain coco butter, and no vanilla, as suggested in the other thread. I'll post that on there tomorrow, Monday.

No, didn't notice them in Tesco's today, but on the box of the milk chocolate ones, it says they're also available in white chocolate.

Oh, I saw the Aero drinks, but there were in boxes, not individual sachets, so I didn't get any.

okay, with your hunting
Can you look if the 'old style' Maltesers ice cream is still available - three flat circles on a stick.
Not sure if the new design - caterpillar, without a stick has replaced the old design, or is an additional choice.

You saw the aero drink without it being in sachets! Where??? I need to know! It is one of my favourite instant drinks!! Last time I looked it was attached to a huge canister of Gold Blend (at Costco*)
Will have a look for 'old style' Maltesers ice cream!

to confuse you, the Aero drinks I saw in Tesco were in boxes of sachets. At least I assume they were. It would be in a jar of some kind if it was loose, I'd imagine.
I didn't get any because they weren't available in individual one drink sachets, as the Maltesers drink was.

I saw the white Maltesers ice cream in FarmFoods (freezer shop) today. Didn't get them, as I'm not too keen on white choc, got After Eight ice cream cones instead.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but when can we start mentioning errors - effectively peer reviewing it?

Just eating a white Maltesers ice cream (in the interests of research, obviously ) Hubby picked them up this morning.
Thickish, but not too thick white on the outside (sames shape as the 'normal' ones i.e. no stick), glorious white choccy tasting ice cream, and rather oddly the tiny little balls of malteser in the middle are milk so it doesn't taste like the well known brand of malty drink as much as the normal s do
Flippin' yummy though!

Feel free to point out any errors. Here at the bottom of the Entry is probably the easiest way.
The 'How Maltesers are Made' section is still being viewed and checked by BH, our resident sweet making expert. I'll add it as soon as it's finished.
magwitch, I'd read online reviews of the original milk chocoolate ice cream (with 3 joined circles on a stick) they said there was quite a thick layer of chocolate. On the newer ones I tried last week, I found the chocolate to be thin, if you're saying the white chocolate is thickish, it must be thicker than the milk chocolate.
Oh, and would you agree with my description of 'caperpilla' shape?

Guess what I got through my letter-box today, along with free local newspaper, a leaflet/flyer on Maltesers ice cream, complete with a 50p off voucher for purchase of box of Maltesers ice cream
And I discovered, it's not bits of maltesers mixed with the ice cream, but mini Maltesers, just as JulesK said they were.

Just read the Maltesers Entry and realised I've missed something out - the ingredients for Maltesers ice cream. (Ooopppsss) I've got box of milk choc, don't suppose you've got a box of white Maltesers in your freezer Magwitch.
