Am I the only one who thinks the new neon pink logo for BBC 3 is the most hideous thing to ever sit on a TV screen? I would say sit in the corner of the screen except it appears to be about 4 inches away from it. The damn thing is huge, especially when accompanied by the word 'new' or some such underneath it, and I think it completely detracts from whatever is being broadcast at the time.

Other channels seem to be opting for white or grey logos and even Sky are making theirs more discreet these days. BBC3 seems to be going back to a style other channels abandoned about five years ago.

Am I the only one who thinks this new logo is a big mistake?

I agree entirely, it looks bloody awful and saw it for the first time yesterday.
I don't understand why they have to have logos anyway and in bright pink too!
I record a lot of Christmas specials and find it hard to find a channel witout a logo these days.

What is just as bad is having an advert for next programme pop up at top of screen before current programme has ended.

Recently I recorded a programme and found there was the usual annoying channel logo and a constant advert bolow it for a new series so refused to watch programme as so annoying and deleted rcording.

It must be the season for it

ABC TV in Australia has just changed their "watermark" - watermark my - it's a bloody big blue brand that seems to draw the eye to it.

There's been a public outcry about it and recently it seems to have faded (a little) - there's also a school of thought that goes something like "If they make a real mess of it it will draw publicity and that's what they really want."

I hate the new logo too...

the blobs were awesome

but in fairness, they have to put it that far out for those who don't have widescreen TV's
