The seven deadly sins...

Firstly, consistent non-closure of brackets is a sin. A Deadly one...
secondly: Envy I think is deeper and broader than jealousy. You can envy someone's position in a way that slowly eats at you, whereas jealousy tends to be more passionate and fiery. Being envious I think is more insidious and damaging to the psyche.
Thirdly: Greed is not just money, is it? It's ownership, power etc. Money is the easiest and main form, yes... But I agree, it all needs to flow or you end up with an aneurism!

Envy is the desire of something you haven't got. Jealousy is the desire to hold onto something you've already own and don't want anybody else to have.

"Envy is the desire of something you haven't got."
This I agree with.
"Jealousy is the desire to hold onto something you've already own and don't want anybody else to have."
I think what you're describing is simple possessiveness.
Jealousy is an emotion, a bitter and angry one, that is associated with both possessiveness and envy.

Jealousy is definitely bitter and strong, but I don't think it applies to things you don't possess. That would be envy.

I'd like to put in a good word for sloth.
The world would be a better place if sloth was more widely practised. Certain world leaders would do less harm with a good dose of sloth - as would armies, and criminals.
Can we give the taxman a very severe case of sloth?
The world needs more sloth!!

I think the Island is a mtaphore for the after life conveyor belt. For those of you wh believe in one of the monotheist religiouns when you die, your souls are held at the gates and are being confronted with questions such as have you been good? No... no point lying, they all ready know all about you.if your bad deeds out number your good deeds you go to hell
other wise it's worse you go to heaven.
The characters fate is not decidec yet their actions on the Island(suspended reality) can still determine their endsor
