A Conversation for The Nerd in American Teenage Culture

I would like to thank you, Echo, for sending an entry about nerds (and geeks) into existance. I am a nerd and I think this is both a) true and factual and b) rather funny, with the possibility of c) being based on personal experience. I say this because I've been flickering across the surface of the Guide for a bit now and I've found your sn all over.

Yes, the Internet is a haven for Nerds, but I think you should add that it was created by a group of nerds (I think so at least). I heard a story about a Collage Campus Network, a group of nerdy students, and a Coke machine in a dorm, but I don't think it's true.

Nerds are Mostly Harmless, with the exception of a few. I believe there is a Bumper Sticker with: I think therefore I'm dangerous. Very nerdy, very true.

thanks again

Thanks for your comments, riverrunning - though I'm experiencing a strange feeling of deja-vu; I suspect we've met before...smiley - winkeye

I don't think I'll do much work on this entry for the forseeable future, though. In PeerReview it was deemed too much like the existing Edited Entry on "Dorks", which is what the UKers call nerds. I know the Coke machine story (and as far as I know it's true), and I know the bumper sticker as well.

Enjoy hootoo.smiley - dontpanic
