Hello Annie,
Really glad you did this!
This is a good solid start, but I think it would benefit from the addition of headers to divide the various sections into 'History', 'Accommodation', 'Famous Alumni' and so on.
I think we should probably eliminate the line about the 'dodgy pull from Freshers' week' ending up in the same halls though, as it's still a possibility for gay students.
There are also some good opportunities for links:
Internal:
University of Cambridge: A724231
And external:
Newnham College website: http://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/
Cambridge University: http://www.cam.ac.uk/
Cambridge University Students' Union: http://www.cusu.cam.ac.uk/
Thanks Annie!
Natalie

Thanks for the suggestions Natalie - will do some tweaks when I have a bit of time.
Very true about the 'dodgy pull' not being true for gay students! I suppose I'm just programmed to trot all the counter-arguments to 'but I don't want to be at a women's college'. I'll think of something else to put in its place!

Hi Natalie
I've put some headers in - what do you think?

Hello Annie,
Thanks for this - I think the headers are good!
I know you've hinted at it in the introduction, but I'd be interested in seeing just a little bit more about the history - who founded it and so on (and I think the way this links in with the college's coat of arms is interesting). It would also be nice to see a bit about the facilities on campus and the buildings. I see there's a new library - it'd be good to read about that, too.

Please could you integrate the links within your entry, instead of listing them seperately. To do this you will need these codes.
To link to an entry on h2g2 put Cambridge
Here's another one for you to put in A151480
To link to an entry outside H2G2 such as the Newnham College website put Newnham College

I was going to suggest that you include sections on History, Exams and Pastimes, like the Cambridge University entry, but I'm unsure whether this is necessary or not.

History comes at the beginning, and I've just expanded this section a bit.
Exams will be the same as the main university entry.
Pastimes ... don't think there's anything very specific.

I think this is on the right lines, but still a bit thin on detail.
I'm not quite clear how the Sidgwick's house which provided lodgings for five women turned into a college - would it be possible to fill in some of the gaps?
Also, it's probably better to refer to Sidgwick just as a philosopher rather than a 'philosophy lecturer' as he was more than just a teacher, being rather distinguished in his own right. It would be interesting to know more about Sidgwick's role. I know he was a utilitarian like John Stuart Mill, but I wonder if he shared Mill's views on the advancement of women. In other words, was he making a political point, or just renting his house out?
Can you take out the 'I' in the 'college for women' section - the edited guide style is not to use the first person.
On alumni, I wonder if you could say a bit more here, or perhaps just format this differently as it's not that easy to read. Maybe a sentence or two on each alumnus? I think Greer and Murdoch were more than just writers!
Hope this is useful....

Nope - sorry!
Don't know if there's some way of letting other people add stuff/tweak the entry (wikipedia style) but I've really done as much as I want to on this one!

The only way we can do that is for you to withdraw this from PR and place it in the Flea Market. Then another Researcher can "rescue" it (you will still be co-authored) and then they can submit it to PR again. No-one at the moment can add content except yourself.
If you can't do this, the Scouts can do it for you, or if you want help, just shout.

Well I've read the stuff about the Flea Market, but don't understand how to put the entry there - so now I'm shouting for help please!
I've done as much as I want to with this entry, so would be quite happy for anyone else to adopt it - preferably someone who is actually a student, rather than on the admin side of the fence!
