I don't know why this question is asked. I have read both and it would never have occured to me to compare their styles. They don't even write in the same genre.
I find tribal mentality irritating and questions that are just ment to inflame even more irritating.
So what will it be? Emacs or vi, win or mac, bomb Iraq or We shall overcome?
I guess in the end I'll always make sure I have my towel.
