Large non-furry beasts

I would advise avoiding any
and all small furry animals
on general principels.
Higher life forms will
invariably choose to commune
with the noble elephant, at
each and every zoo visit.

Well of course it does.
Lice, fleas, dirt,
and uhh, well,other dirt.
Ticks, weeping cists,
the list goes on.
