hi computermasher,
Have you read about the Forum? A1146917
You will probably find that this sort of game thread is better suited to Ask h2g2. A148907

Hi there,
The Forum isn't really the right place for game threads such as this one, it is really intended for serious debate.
You might like to have a read through the introduction page at A1146917 before starting another thread here. You'll get a better response if you post this somewhere like Askh2g2 or MiscChat.

I really should have pointed this out, but for some reason my brain decided that it WAS on Ask.
That's what you get for clicking a link and then doing something else for five minutes.

Not to be part of the "shoot down in flames" brigade but this is an "ask" sort of thread that shouldn't be in the forum.
Mayby if you email the italics they will move it?

Actually, I find this fascinating. The Forum was started as a reaction to people 'misusing' Ask h2g2 as a place to play games instead of ask questions, is that right? And yet here are the forumites asking for this game to be moved from here, where it doesn't really belong, to somewhere else it doesn't really belong.
Where do the silly games go....

Very interesting Mina....
I rather feel that ask has become the "de facto" home of sillyness now. Whereas the "forum" has taken over as the home of serious debate.
Generally people post there Q's and Games in ask (I two there yesterday, one needing help about firefox, and one requesting new smileys ), but if they have a deeper and more serious question it goes here.
Personally (and take "shifty" and "the DWars" aside) I think this works well. You know what you get from both "Ask" and the "forum".
Myself I subscribe to the "forum" but I just check "Ask" a couple of times a day because I tend to find endless threads like this trivial and boring.

Well I suggested MiscChat, but I think we are all aware of the way that Ask has developed - it seems unlikely that it will revert back to being a place to ask questions rather than play games any time soon...

So errr.... mayby it is time to formalise the arrangement. Ask could be billed like you say as "misc chat" and Forum could be billed as the proper place for the kind of discussions we have here.
I think the phrase is "everyones a winner"

Sorry, I disagree. Ask h2g2 has recovered in the past, and can do again. But contributing to the problem by asking for the more light-hearted threads to be shunted there doesn't seem very sensible.
Not everyone has heard about the forum, where Ask h2g2 is very easy to find.
We also don't find many threads on here that are questions that aren't serious discussion but still perfectly valid. Where would they go?
