Nuclear Weapons: yes or no?

The old 'Mexican standoff'. Similar to the Cuban missile crisis, except these days there seem to be much crazier people in charge than either Kennedy and Kruschev were.
Of course it only takes one maniac to 'push the button' so to speak.
And the political world seems full of maniacs right now.
Not a pleasant thought. So I just hope I go in a blast of white light and without knowing what hit me.
At least I reckon that Spain won't be hit as the perpetrators aren't gonna want to lose those beach front properties!

On rocketry, the UK was, until earlier this year, home to one of the longest running production rocket companies going. OK, so it wasn't an ICBM, but it was still a commercial rocket.

It seems you are right - they only go to the US to collect them in the first place and for reburbishment. I stand corrected

You mean invade Scotland? Naw, they'd get lost within a couple of hours...
They could probably destroy them if they really wanted to declare war on us, but protect them? A little difficult.

It would be interesting to see what the Faslane peace camp protestors would do if the US invaded to steal our subs; many of them claim they're staunch patriots as well as being opposed to nuclear weapons.
