'Ille porcum nolo! I want that pig!'
'nolo' means I don't want, so shouldn't that be 'ille porcum volo'?

Whoops.... Good thing someone was paying attention!
My apologies, volo is right. I just always think of it s the flying verb and forget it means want also...

The only Latin i can remember was drummed into my head as a child (forgive me if spelling is off)
Inomini patris et fili et spiritus sancti
which means
In the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit
i would like to speak it as fluently as i did when i was young

My 2 cents:
'In nomini' - 2 words, but it could certainly sound like one
Er... that'll have to count for two cents, even if you only get a penny for my thoughts.
---------
Mei duo pecuniae.
'In nomini' - Duo verba, sed id est possum id est similis unum verbum.
Er... Ille duo pecuniam neccese erabit, quamquam si tui unum pecuniam pro mei cogitatium.

I just thought of another bit of Latin I know:
Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaeorum - Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews.
It was written on a sign on Jesus' torture stake. You sometimes see it abbreviated on statues to INRI (since they used I's instead of J's, and V's instead of U's).

I am here, I don't speak any latin though... Anyone feel like teaching the basics? I had to do it in the Mandarin thread, people should head on over there too, since currently it's like just me and occassionally 1 or 2 other people...

lit. is short for literally... since the meanings of many Latin words are adapted to fit the context, it's often helpful to know the literal meanings... in this case, the Latin for 'path' was used but to mean 'way'
