Thanks ditz and thanks LB. Unfortunately I suffer with a condition called Ulcerative Colitis, if you haven't heard of it it's inflammation of the colon with various unpleasant effects. I've had it since I was 17 and have managed it over the years, but due to some major stress over the last few weeks it's flared up quite badly and has left me rather debilitated. I'm on medication and am going to see my specialist soon so hopefully with a carefull diet and popping pills etc it will start to get better over the next few weeks. Thanks for the smiley - hug's

As for what I'm reading I've dumped the disturbing book and have opted for Sharpe's Rifles, PHOAR Sean Bean. smiley - droolsmiley - droolsmiley - biggrin

I have just started Love in the Age of Cholera by Gabriel someone Marquez. So far a few pages in it is a very lyrical read altho friends have siad it is a bit dense so we shall see. Started Memory Keepers Daughter as well, cant wait to get back to it!
What is teh Emigrants about lbp?smiley - smiley

That sounds really good lbp. I bought the Eyre Affiar for a friend today, a book club girl who is now living in the states. Her marriage has recently folded and she is quite low so I thought this might be an entertaining diversion! smiley - smiley

I think I have read something by her cant remember what tho. Love in the Time of Cholera is good but a tad slow for my liking. I really want to get back to Memory Keepers Daughter but this is our book club choice so I need to stick with it for a bit longer.smiley - erm

I've given up with Goldfinger and I'm trying a Torchwood book, to see if the books are better than the TV show and so far it's not disappointing

I agree, my Mum's always like Isaac Asimov's Robot books, you can't go wrong with Douglas Adams or Robert Rankin, I like his books because I used to work in Brentford and Ealing, where his books are set, the books that are set round TV shows are good especially the Babylon 5 ones, one called Voices is excellent, you don't really need to be a fan of the show to read some of them

The new Janet Evanovitch/Stephanie Plum is out so I'm afraid Gorgeous Captain Jack has been put back on the shelf until Lean Mean Thirteen is finished
