But, so far, she has resisted all efforts to guide her.
She must first decide whether her path will lead her back to the light.
Until she makes that decision for herself, all of our attempts to help her will seem seem like us pressuring her into the way we think she should go.
I still think our duty now is to protect her only, until she makes her decision.

SPAYKER: And if you're there when he makes the wrong decision?

Wrong decision? Who are we to judge what is the wrong decision for another person?
If /she/ chooses the Dark Side then the choice is hers. We would be no better than the Darksiders if we forced her to stay here against her will.
What would I do? If I truly believed that she had chosen the Dark side, I would let her go and hope that eventually the light would prevail.

We cannot /force/ our beliefs on those who do wish to follow them.
We can only attempt to nullify the effects the Dark side may have on others.

SPAYKER: Maybe not but you're supposed to protect life. Who would you be if you allowed her to kill?

Yes, it is our duty to protect life. But we are not gods. We can only influence - not control.
The Dark side is a fact of life and there will always be those who are tempted by its promises of power.
It is probably our greatest weakness that we would not destroy one who turned to the Dark side in our midst. But I also believe that it is our greatest strength.
If she turns, we can only attempt to thwart her plans.

*looks up*
So, what your saying is, I need to decide to find a path before anyone can help me?

*stares into space*
Whoa... killing people... *shudders*
*looks normal again*
Do they plot against us a lot?

That is what I think, young one. If /you/ do not know which way you want to go how can anyone else help to guide you?
You have a lot to think about. I suggest that while you work here you should think hard about the path you will take.
I will not try to influence your decision - others may. You must weigh their advice and decide for yourself.
I will stay here for the time being, only to watch over your safety. If you wish to ask me any questions, I will try to answer them honestly. The question is, are you ready to hear honest answers?
If you choose the Dark side, I will not stand in your way or try to stop you leaving. However, I cannot speak for others. They may see things differently.
If you choose the Light, you can count on the help and support of everyone here, on your road back. I am sure that the Council would allocate the teacher you felt was best equipped to help with your problems.
