Also, is there any chance of us "Reserves", if we're more active, replacing those on the main list who have disappeared?

Er........well..........I don't know. We are mostly chatting and saying "hi" to each other. This all started a long long time ago as a different way to link to others, with the hope that they would link to me too. It's gotten way out of hand, as it has become my "thing" at h2g2. It does seem to help break the ice between strangers once in a while - "Hi, I'm a Misfit" "Me too!"

I guess it's a way to make friends here.....oh, and we're talking about a virtual softball game (as you know), but we'll see how that goes - seems tricky.

As far as the roster goes......hmmmmm, I don't know. Some people really do disappear, but some come back after several weeks, and I'd hate for them to have lost their spot because they lost their jobs and couldn't get to a computer (or something). The only reason for the pulldown menu is to keep my page from getting any longer than it already is. I'll think about it.....

After considering what you've said - I agree that you have a very good point.. I would feel guilty if I was responsible for things such as that.

Btw, how long until I'm up on the roster, (unless I'm already on it). I've got no time to check at the moment.

You are signed up as "Groupie" since you will already be a reserve player by being on the reserves.....if that makes any sense. Let me know if you prefer something else, but it's good to have a groupie on the team - some of our players get pretty lonely

I'm amazed that it took 64 researchers before someone grabbed the designated hitter position. I think everyone assumed all the actual positions were long-gone.......

Hi Adela Josefina! We actually are planning a virtual softball game - it will be a trivia game with softball-like rules. The rules tribunal is having trouble making final decisions, but we hope to have it up and running after the new year.

Assuming h2g2 survives the millenium.........
