Having a weekend job at WHSmith for 2½ years, I have been driven mad by customers, mainly over one simple thing.
Why don't they listen?
I say, "That'll be £9.99 please." and they say "What?" and I have to repeat it.
I say, "Would you like a bag?" and they say "What?" and I have to repeat it.
I've tried talking quietly, loudly, fast, and slow, and every combination and mid-ground between - but they always do it!!! Even the ones that come in every week for the same thing!!!
Nnngh!!!
