A Conversation for Talking Point: One Minute Rants

Why does a black, jewish, homosexual, woman have more to fear than the leaders of most nations?

When will the next great leader come around and acutually create a paradigm shift?

Are we all so "comfortable" in conforming that we no longer strive to change what is controlling us?

Ever notice if penquins have knees?

When did it become ok to allow the qualities of an individual become more important that the issues at hand?

How did we forget to ask why?

1. Depends on which black jewish homosexual woman you are talking about.

2. Never. If there is a paradigm shift, it won't be a "leader" that does it for us.

3. No. Little time, busy looking out for no. 1, don't think it'll make a difference. Take your pick.

4. No

5. It's always been OK. The converse is a recent phenomenon.

6. I haven't. Tell me how you did.

Curbur,
Your third and fifth seem to me to be contradictory. Yes too many people conform, we need not lose the individual, but then you go on to say that the needs of the whole should take precedence over the individual. We proved years ago that the socialist theory didn't work and that the individual is important. As far as asking why; those of us who still think for ourselves still do ask why.

I think you have misread the 5th. The existence of 'issues' does not imply collectivism.

The question seems to me to be asking why, if it is better to discuss the substance of what someone is saying than their personal qualities, does the reverse happen so often.

I'm pretty sure penguins do have knees.

I think all birds do their just much higher up than ours.
