I hat chewing gum that gets stuck to floors, and the bottoms of bins. If people insist on using it would they be kind enough to wrap it in sumthing and put it in a bin instead of just spitting it on the floor.

Chewing gum all over city pavements is a real 
and costs local councils huge amounts of money to clean up.
But what really puzzles me is the fact that there's an increase in the density of chewing gum/pavement interface within the 2 metres around most city centre bins.
If they managed to get THAT close to the bin why didn't they just put the stuff IN the bin?
