Hi Apprentice, for the benefit of non-Aussies not aware of this programme I'd be inclined to move the paragraph in the first sub-section and put it as the opening paragraph for the article. That way it explains straight away what the article is about.
Other than that, it looks smiley - ok

Do you mean the bit that starts with: 'The Olden Days started life as the 1974 - 1976 Australian Broadcasting Commission produced historical drama series Rush...'?

As someone who hadn't heard of this series it reads much better with that intro paragraph there. smiley - ok

Sorry I'm late to the party. Had a lunch break to spare so thought I'd pop back into PR. smiley - smiley Just a couple of comments, usually to do with the meaning of words.

smiley - biroIs mud mining a real profession or not? I assumed it wasn't, but it would be nice if this were made clear! smiley - biggrin

smiley - biro"Play School started in 1966, based on the British version that aired from 1964, but has significantly outlived the original (which closed its doors in 1988)."
--> I'd footnote this as it's not directly related to the subject. Other people may disagree though. smiley - smiley

smiley - biro"Governor Frontbottom as the new (poncy)..."
--> what does poncy mean?

smiley - biro"Rumour reveals Frontbottom to be something of a hat-basher."
--> hat-basher? As in, literally bashes hats? Or is this a slang term for something else?

smiley - biro"Olden fights back (with a big doobie)."
-->doobie?

smiley - biro"Whose Looking Through the Round Window Now?"
--> Who's

smiley - biro"John Waters...for the Australian childrens series"
--> childrens'

Otherwise, all good from over here. smiley - smiley

--> Is mud mining a real profession or not? I assumed it wasn't, but it would be nice if this were made clear!
smiley - scientist No. I'll see what I can do about this...

"Play School started in 1966, based on the British version that aired from 1964, but has significantly outlived the original (which closed its doors in 1988)."
--> I'd footnote this as it's not directly related to the subject. Other people may disagree though.
smiley - scientist Fair enough.

"Governor Frontbottom as the new (poncy)..."
--> what does poncy mean?
smiley - scientist 'Poncy' is to act in an ostentatiously 'artistic', possibly effeminate, way. I thought the term was still in common parlance, but I could be wrong (about 'poncy' and the word 'parlance').

"Rumour reveals Frontbottom to be something of a hat-basher."
--> hat-basher? As in, literally bashes hats? Or is this a slang term for something else?
smiley - scientist I can't prove it, but I suspect this might be slang for something... I'd certainly consider it a possible euphemism for masturbation.

"Olden fights back (with a big doobie)."
-->doobie?
smiley - scientist Yes, a doobie. A spliff.

"Whose Looking Through the Round Window Now?"
--> Who's
"John Waters...for the Australian childrens series"
--> childrens'
smiley - scientist Both corrected.

...however - I might be putting a saucy British double-entendre slant on this. My wife's Australian and reckons this comment might be entirely innocent and silly.

I'm open to thoughts on whether the piece warrants any explanation of poncy, doobie or hat-basher? I consider poncy and doobie to be self-explanatory (to those who know) and worth a dictionary search for anyone else. Hat-basher is almost definitely a made-up term.

Hi Apprentice. Our smiley - 2cents. We think you should probably explain 'doobie' and 'hat-basher' (even it you just say that it is a made-up term, that could refer to...), but not 'poncy'. As you were. smiley - ok
