Mum always adds a little grated cheese, and so do I.
And although I cannot normally bear sprouts, I always keep a bag of frozen sprouts and add one or two (boiled and then chopped) to the green veg. Adds a little piquancy...
Branston pickle is nice (as a side relish, not mixed in) as well.

...and, in fact, most of the ingredients you mentioned as accompanying your breakfast bubble can be incorporated into it. Of course, it's not bubble and squeak any more, but it IS delicious.
