Don't give him alcohol, he's hard enough to control as it is!

Scunthorpe?
Is it just me, or is there really more researchers from up North on here?

More from up north than where? The south? I dunno, there's a fair number of in and around London types.

It just seems that everyone I meet is either Scottish, or from the big Northern cities. I'm a Southerner myself. I'm sure I'm just being daft.

Depends what you define as 'Northern'. I used to know an extremely right-wing chap from Surrey who thought Oxford was despicable Northern.
Then again, I've got a good friend who lives in the Orkneys and regards me as a Southern poofter.
I still reckon there's more Southerners on h2g2, though, if we take an arbitrary line at - say - the Watford Gap, just because they've all got broadband, which we dun't get out 'ere in the sticks.

I don't have broadband. Although the library computer has something that's faster than your average dial up.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
