Reread the bit about the BG for grammar. It reads a little odd in sections. I'll spare you the details, but please pay attention once sentences get 4-5 commas in them, as they tend to run on, not a lot, but you get the idea, unless I need to explain it further, which I would be happy to do .
Not to be rude, but the summaries of Heretics and Chapter House read like the back jacket of the books.
Anyway, I really like the restructuring. The entry reads easier because of the improved organisation. I still feel that there a re a few small bit that could do with some tightening and improvement but I think the areas I mentioned above are the only sticking spots.
Excellent entry!
I have one little request: could somebody that does not know Dune read this and see if it makes sense. It makes terrific sense to me, but I know lots of this stuff. . .
Friar
ps. I'll post this request on the scouts forum and see if anybody bites.

I haven't read them
To be honest, some things are used before they're defined, which is confusing. A lot of things just aren't defined...

The new intro which gives the plot summary of Dune is better than the previous way the entry started.
Other problems: you should not reveal that the geriatric spice is created by the sand worms, as this is something which is only supposed to be revealed about half way through the book. Don't spoil the surprise.
You put a link to another entry, but the other entry is not in the edited guide, so this link will be removed when this entry is subedited.

To be quite honest I was getting to the point of 'finish the damn thing' by the time I got to the synopsis of heretics and Chapter. They weren't lifted from the cover (maybe I have found a new jobe role )
Will look at the grammar etc
And thanks, that is probably the kind of peer I need most on this Friar (no offence to your excellent feedback). I feel that I know these books very well, but I am sure I have probably lost some of the people who have never read the books somewhere in the bowels of the article. A Dune virgin is what's needed
Jodan,
Some of the things aren't defined here because they are defined in another article, albeit it is a bit brief. I didn't want to get bogged down in definitions. However the point has been taken, and so do you think that adding a glossary (I feel I have used enough footnotes and it would help get rid of some) at the end would make any difference, with some sort of disclaimer that specific terms will be defined there?

A glossary would help. Usually I hate them, but here you have more information than can reasonably go into footnotes.

I don't know how relevant this is, but I remember reading somewhere that at least the first book was written while he was in Seattle, working our local Post Intelligencer newspaper.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
