Random Access Memory (The Website)
Created | Updated Oct 19, 2012
What is It?
It can be considered an archive for the memories of its users, any of which can be viewed by guests. Its design is based on a "mesh" system, in which all of the sections of the website are visible by way of translucent slabs meshed together. Of the six tabs present in the upper left corner of the screen, three are search tabs. "Date" allows you to search for memories by the year in which they occurred, "Name" finds the memories for a specific user and "Subject" uses keywords to find memories pertaining to that subject. The results are listed as links to pop-up windows containing the recollections.
Signing Up
When you register with RAM, you gain access to the other three tabs. After signing in with... well, with the "Sign In" tab, you can view your own private memories (which you can edit at any time) with the "Yours" tab. The "Add One" tab* should be self-explanatory. Essentially, you can create your own private directory of experiences and thoughts as they occur to you, much like a retroactive blog.*
Future Plans
The proprietors of the website intend to use it to analyze patterns in common memory and whether certain memories are associated with certain time periods... almost a huge psychology project in and of itself!
