None. Don't do it. Leave things alone.
I cannot think of one big-screen adaptation of a TV show that has stayed faithful to the original and has worked.

What about The Fugitive? That worked rather well AND even had a man with an artificial arm in it.

IMO, it was reasonable. Thought that the Tommy Lee Jones character was good, but the film turned the character into a joker compared with the TV series, so it wasn't "true" to the original.

Agreed. Method acting taken to its extreme

Well, I haven't seen 'The Fugitive' but I would go with your original point that TV programmes don't make good movies. The main reason IMHO is that the originals are usually made for broadcast in 30-minute episodes, then for a movie you have to try to stretch the humour/suspense to around 90 minutes and it NEVER works. The only one I half-enjoyed was The Addams Family and even then I still prefer the originals.

The same could be argued of Stephen Soderberg's remake of Ocean's 11. While not a remake of a TV series, it was a much better film than the original, which was just an excuse for a few aging playboys to get pissed in Vegas. OK, so the characters weren't true to the original but the film had a brio and style of its own. The issues is whether anything gets lost in the remake.

Not in the least. A hugely successful movie which took the premise of the TV originals and merely made it bigger.

Ah. I thought you were suggesting that someone made a movie from it. I got the wrong end of the stick. .
I've never seen the film but I quite like Mike Myers.

I've seen both the wayne world movies, they are among the the wayne world movies, they are among the best of the SNL movies but still not as funny as the original SHORT skits. Did we really need two of them?

The first Star Trek films were good, in particular Wrath Of Kahn. Then again, it regurgutated the franchise so now we have "Enterprise"....
