This is looking good. I like your rephrasings. There's some places where the apostrophe is missing, I spotted some wonts, but can't find them again.

Hey there!

It occurs to me that you could expand on the area of Alcoholic drinks requiring Lemons. Your current examples do not even warn that alcohol is a semi-requirement.

Some drinks you could mention (you needn't worry about providing individual recipes) might include:

'Collins' (the whole family; Tom, Joe, Vodka, etc.)
Dozens of 'Daisys' (Whiskey, Rum, etc.)
Greenwich Sour
'Le Cadeau' (The Gift)
'Lynchburg Lemonade' (Jack Daniels distillery/Lynchburg, Tennessee USA.
'Mata Hari'
Some 'Sangria' recipes

Good luck with this tasty entry!

Excellent entry, Opti! smiley - applause It looks good to me as it is, but more on the subject of lemons in smiley - stiffdrink could be added if you liked. Are you planning to do that, or do you think the entry's zestful enough as it is? smiley - biggrin

Sorry about the lemon grass thing. I should have indicated that the suggestion was tongue in cheek.

Seriously, lemon grass would not be close enough unless in the 'not to be confused with...' category. smiley - rofl

BigAl Patron Saint of Left Handers Keeper of the Glowing Pickle and Monobrows

Just came across a recipe for pickled lemons (Daily Mail UK 'Weekend' magazine). It didn't say what to use them for, but this website does:

http://www.belazu.com/details/belazu-pickled-lemons.html

Wash 4 or 5 lemons well. Have ready a large jar. Cut through each lemon vertically as though you were quartering it, but don't cut through the base. of the lemon. Thus you will have a sort of tulip effect.
Put 1 lemon into the jar and add as much as 1 tablespoon of sea salt. Continue with the other lemons until the jar is full, then pour boiling water in to reach to the top of the jar.. Seal with a lid and don't open for 3-4 weeks.
After that the pickled lemons can be kept in their jar for up to 1 year, so long as they're in the fridge.
