A Conversation for The Voyage - 2003/4
THE MAGIC ROUNDABOUT
Charityplayer Started conversation Sep 1, 2003
BEFORE MEN KNEW,
THAT THE WORLD IS ROUND,
WHEN THEY THOUGHT IT FLAT,
AND SO MUCH HAD TO BE FOUND
SOME THOUGHT IT BEST,
TO HEAD WAY OUT WEST,
TO FIND THE EDGE OF THE GROUND,
WHERE THE SUN GOES DOWN
SOME SAID GO EAST,
TOWARDS SUNRISE,
AND THERE WE WILL FIND,
A BIG SURPRISE
EAST, IS WHERE WE SHOULD GO,
EAST TOWARDS FABLED
EL DORADO
AND SO THEY SET SAIL,
THEIR THEORIES TO TEST,
SOME WENT EAST,
SOME WENT WEST
AND WOT THEY FOUND,
IS THAT THE WORLD IS ROUND,
AND THAT THE SUN IN FACT,
NEVER DOES GO DOWN
AS FOR THE FABLED CITY OF GOLD,
MANY A YARN
WAS SPUN AND TOLD
BUT ELDORADO ITSELF,
WAS NEVER FOUND,
THEY ONLY FOUND,
THAT THE WORLD IS
ROUND

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
