The station's owners have announced the sale of the station to First Broadcast Investment Partners, LLC of Dallas, Texas, USA. If the Federal Communications Commission approves, the sale will be final on May 1, 2004. The current owners plan to keep the name and to continue broadcasting over the Internet. More information is available at the Web site.
This Researcher is not happy, and neither are many area listeners. This seems like a bad move for a station whose mantra is 'corporate radio s***s'. WOXY broadcasts interesting, if not always commericially-viable, music, and it actively supports the local music scene. To quote Inspector Clousseau in the 'Pink Panther' movies: 'Not anymore.'

WOXY is back broadcasting over the internet only. After being sold they went dark for a couple months but came back online a few months ago. They have moved out of Oxford to Cincinnati. You can hear them on their website WOXY.com.
It is too bad for the region that they are no longer on the airwaves. I lived in Richmond, Indiana for a short time and the only radio to listen to was Top-40, Country or WOXY. It stayed on constantly for me.
