The Temple of Shadows

0 Conversations

The Gate of the Heavens, the Path of the gods, and the Doorway to the Stars.

A massive shining black pyramid stands as the only structure on the entire planet. The planet is buried in black, ominous clouds, the only light streaming up and out from the glowing silver cap stone of the Temple.

As you walk down the stone path to the enterence of the Temple, several miles from the Star Gate, you note that there seems to be no life on the planet's surface, there is only black rock, and the white marble of the path

When you finally reach the Temple's enterence, you look up to the cap stone and are blinded by the light, as you shake your head from left to right, clearing your head, you see that base of the pyramid seems to stretch to both horizons. Clearly the building is even more massive than it had first apeared.

Clearly impressed, you take the last few steps towards the enterence. You stop just one meter in front of door. The security officers scan you from behind hidden panels that are perfectly concealed within the walls. The door slides silently into the wall, as you pass the thresh-hold, a Tollon weapon de-activator, dissables your weapons. You don't notice and pass with-in

The Main Hall

The Main Hall

Upon entering the Temple of Shadows you find yourself in the Main Hall. It stretches through the first floor of the entire temple, at varouis points in the walls are semi-circular alcoves, each a ring transporter to a different part of the temple. Between the alcoves are murals of any number of different things, battles, parties, land/sea/space scapes, people, and things.

The Throne of His Divine Shadow

A man worshipping His Divine Shadow

Halfway through the Main Hall you come upon a massive circular room, with tall white marble pillars stretching up to a vaulted ceiling. Light enters the room through massive stained glass windows, the figures on them representations of the Vala and Mia, of the Asgard, and of many others. At one end of the room is a high dias, some ten steps above the ground, and on that dais is a low backed, broad, green leather chair, if HDS were to lay across it, he could sleep there comfortably. At the opposite end of the room, is a garden, with tall trees, vines creeping up the pillars, statues and fountains, all seeming very Elvish.

The Alter of Eru

In the center of the room, hangin in thin air, is the tribute to Eru, the God of all gods, the creator. The tribute is a radient map of all existance, all creation, and it is cautioned that one not look at it too long, or they will see a micro-scopic dot, on a microscopic dot that proclaims "you are here." There is a circle of white marble in the direct center of the Temple, directly under the tribute to Eru, on which sacrifices and gifts to Eru may be made.

If one continues down the Main Hall, one finds themselves, eventually, on a dais. Five rings spring up from the dais, and through some rather nifty technolgical majik, they transport the one standing in the middle of them to another wonderful place!
