I visited 'the Electric Mountain' with my children and we were totally wowed by the engineering achievement and the elegance of this energy 'solution'. But we were horrified to be told that this immense investment was sold off by the Thatcher government to foreigners and now the profits of all that British ingenuity and the years of labour of so many people benefits foreign investors. Talk about selling off the family silver... all of us on the bus were outraged.
